1 casserole dish
1 microwave safe bowl
1 spatula
- 29 oz (822gr) can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup
- 15 oz (425 gr) box of yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
- ¾ cup (1½ sticks, 170-225 gr) melted butter
Preheat oven to 350°F (190°C).
Cut the butter into chunks and melt in the microwave in 20-second intervals. You can also melt the butter in a pan over low-medium heat.
Butter or grease with a non-stick cooking spray a 9 x 13 inches baking dish.
Pour your large can of peaches into the baking tray, with the juice, making sure the peaches are spread evenly.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top of the peaches in an even layer. Make sure most of the peaches are covered.
Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix layer. Try to cover as much surface as you can. Use a spoon to move the butter around evenly on top of the cake mix.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until the cake starts turning golden brown around the edges and the peaches are juicy and bubbly.
When the cake is ready, take the casserole dish out of the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. You can also serve it at room temperature, or cold.
