Can I use fresh fruit?
Yes you can! The Peach Cobbler is a summer dessert, so, yes, it is best made with fresh peaches (or almost any other fresh fruit, for that matter). But, even if the peach season is over, this easy dessert recipe works just as beautifully with canned fruits and is sure to delight your taste buds either way. If you don’t have any peaches, you could replace them with whatever fruits or canned fruits you have on hand, and come up with a variety of cobbler recipes to enjoy at any time of year: blueberry cobbler, apple cobbler, cherry cobbler, and so on.
So, if you have a few cans of peaches you don’t know what to do with, this is the easiest dessert you can try!

Sinfully Easy 3 Ingredient Peach Cobbler
Equipment
- 1 casserole dish
- 1 microwave safe bowl
- 1 spatula
Ingredients
- 29 oz (822gr) can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup
- 15 oz (425 gr) box of yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
- ¾ cup (1½ sticks, 170-225 gr) melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (190°C).
- Cut the butter into chunks and melt in the microwave in 20-second intervals. You can also melt the butter in a pan over low-medium heat.
- Butter or grease with a non-stick cooking spray a 9 x 13 inches baking dish.
- Pour your large can of peaches into the baking tray, with the juice, making sure the peaches are spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the top of the peaches in an even layer. Make sure most of the peaches are covered.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix layer. Try to cover as much surface as you can. Use a spoon to move the butter around evenly on top of the cake mix.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until the cake starts turning golden brown around the edges and the peaches are juicy and bubbly.
- When the cake is ready, take the casserole dish out of the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. You can also serve it at room temperature, or cold.
CARMEN’S TIPS
- If you want to add a bit of texture to the cake, you can also add a handful of nuts before sprinkling the cobbler topping over the sliced peaches.
- If you make this cake mix cobbler with fresh fruit, make sure to mix in a few tablespoons of white sugar or brown sugar, depending on the sweetness of your fruit.
- You could also make a reduced syrup to serve on the cake. Just reserve some of the peach juice from the can. Cook on medium heat until the juice thickens, around 3 minutes.
- This cake mix peach cobbler is delicious on its own. But, as a final step, you could also add a scoop of ice cream or some whipped cream. I like to enjoy my peach cobbler with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and, just to be indulgent, with a good dollop of whipped cream, some sprinkles, and a drizzle of the reduced fruit juices. Yummy!
- To store the peach cobbler, you can place it in an airtight container, or cover it with some plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store it in the fridge, for up to 5 days.
